Moving User Accounts

You can move accounts in the domain to secure access to the domain. When you move users, the users are granted permissions according to the location. For example, as a system administrator, you are asked to move Steve Martin’s account.

To move the Steve Martins account:

1. Open Active Directory Users and computers. The Active Directory Users and Computers console appears.

2. Click Users. The list of users appears.

3. Select Steve Martins.

4. Select Action -> Move. The Move dialog box appears.

5. Select the location to move Steve Martins account, for example, Computers.

6. Click OK. Windows Server 2003 moves the Steve Martins account under Computers.
