Monitoring Printers

You must monitor the printer to maintain the performance level of the printer. You can use the System Monitor and Performance log to monitor the printer.


You can monitor the factors, such as:

> Bytes Printed - Monitors the number of bytes the printer prints, If the counter for the numberof bytes printed is very low, then the printer is not being used properly.

> Job Errors - Monitors the number of errors, the printer encounters before, after or during printing. errors are caused commonly because the printer port is not configured properly.

Total Pages Printed - Monitors the number of pages the printer has printed. This information is useful because you can judge the capacity of the printer.
