Microsoft Management Console

Windows Server 2003 provides the Microsoft Management console that enables you to access the administrative tools. These tools help you to manage computers, networks, services, and other system components. In addition, MMC enables you to create and save customized consoles that can include frequently used tools. MMC contains all snap-ins, which are the tools that can be added into the MMC.
For example, as a system administrator, you need to manage the remote computer, using the Computer Management console. For this, you need to create a console containing the Computer Management snap-in and save it as a console to your computer. You must use the MMC to create this console.
